I had the absolute pleasure of learning under Ian Prosser,,,and I can honestly say it was a transformative experience.

From the very first day, Ian Prosser brought not only a wealth of knowledge and expertise but also a genuine passion for the art of floral design and event planning. Ian's approach to teaching is both inspiring and practical, blending creative innovation with the technical, practical skills needed to bring luxury events to life.

What sets Ian Prosser apart is his deep understanding of the luxury industry and his ability to communicate this genuinely and consciously; providing me with both 'big picture' concepts as well as small, everyday tactics to be more efficient and profitable.

Ian creates a collaborative and supportive learning environment. I walked away not only with a new set of skills but also a renewed confidence in my ability to design luxurious, memorable events.

In addition to honing creative skills, the retreat offers invaluable transparent insights into creating higher pricing structures, selling to affluent clients, and building and sustaining a luxury floral business.

but what is luxury?

Often used to describe higher social status and financial means, especially in the event industry, this term is a social construct that is frequently overused. It is commonly assumed that luxury is synonymous with stature and money, but it is rarely discussed in real world floral design terms of what it looks like in different areas, in different cultures, and with different accessibilities. To Ian, “luxury” is when he is afforded the opportunity to be creative, take his designs to new levels, and provide an experience that goes above and beyond.

It’s easy to want to be part of this market, but it’s another thing to have the skill, work ethic, and business acumen to excel in it - which is what this retreat is all about.

So what does it mean…to you? in your market? in your business strategy?

During this retreat, we explore and define “luxury” that is meaningful and attainable for you while teaching you how to enhance your skill for such design.

What this retreat is

  • a transparent and welcoming environment for you to explore your inherent talents, ask your biggest questions, and receive honest answers such as with design, costs, pricing, staff, marketing, etc.

  • an opportunity to hear what did and didn’t work for Ian over the years so you don’t make those same mistakes

  • a road-map for you to learn (or refresh) foundational techniques and composition concepts, create a realistic plan for your business, and forge ahead towards your goals

  • an insightful look into the luxury market and first-class strategies to sell to it

  • a chance to meet and develop relationships with like-minded floral designers seeking growth - both personally and within their business

What it is not

  • a judgmental environment about who has done what, where, and for how much - unless for learning purposes. Everyone is valued equally and deserves a seat at the table.

  • assumptions that what worked for Ian will automatically work for you - this retreat is about giving you space and knowledge to adapt your own strategies for your own success.

“The wisest thing I can do is provide insight and guide you along the way. You’ve got this.” - Ian
